Nov 2, 2017 - In this watercolor painting, I drizzled liquid masking fluid in the leafy area, let it dry, then I painted loosely to make the leaves. I negative painted around the flowers, then added some detail in the flower centers and removed the masking fluid. After adding a few dark values in the leafy area, I considered the painting finished.
What is Masking Fluid used in Watercolours?
For masking areas of work needing protection when colour is applied in broad washes. A pigmented liquid composed of rubber latex and pigment. Do not apply on damp or soft sized paper. Remove as soon as possible after application. Brushes can be cleaned if washed immediately with water after use.
