CHP San Fernando Valley (West Valley) in Los Angeles County issued a warning for dishonest people trying to scam you out of your cash by selling fake gold. They say the scam is that people stand on the side of the freeway next to a vehicle, frantically waving for drivers to stop. When somebody stops, the people claim they need cash to fix their “broken-down” vehicle. They offer to sell their 'gold' at really low prices that seem too good to be true - because they are.
