Aug 1, 2022 - Angelus Direct shared a post on Instagram: "🔑 Here are three things people do that massively effect how durable your custom will be: 1. Not enough time prepping with leather preparer. If you do not do enough passes with leather preparer then the paint will not be able to stick properly to whatever finish or oils that are on the shoe from the factory. Always lean toward more passes than less! If you use Acetone instead be very careful as pure acetone can eat into shoes much quicker. 2. Not focusing enough on the edges and crevices. These areas are often overlooked when prepping, However, they need the same, if not more, attention than all other areas of the shoe since they are already at a higher risk for paint cracking if not prepped correctly due to the extra wear that they face. 3. Going over the stitches too hard. While it is essential to remove the factory finish off of all areas of the shoe, leather preparer can eat into the stitching because they are synthetic materials a lot of times. #angelusdirect #angeluspaint #customshoes #customkicks #paintedshoes #arthacks #reels".
