It also allows them to participate in the family routine of meal preparation, which is a bonding experience that will lead to life-long memories.  HISTORY OF THE TRÄKNIV The Träkniv collection from SKÅGFÄ arose from the founders’ daughters’ needing to be part of their day-to-day lives and to be self-sufficient when doing so. With the Träkniv knife, they felt calm about letting them participate with food preparation since they knew their daughters would not be cut! BEECHWOOD AND PLANT OILS Made from beechwood and conditioned with plant-based oils, this wooden knife for children has a clean, Scandinavian style but is actually hand-finished in Spain in small batches. (Does that make it Spaindinavian?! 😁) WHY WE LOVE THIS WOODEN KNIFE One thing that we feel sets this wooden knife apart from others on the market is the beautiful finish.  No rough spots here! And the natural plant oils help protect the knife.  Even more so, the ergonomic handle that many other wooden knives lack is a great fit for little hands. Instead of one solid, flat piece like most other wooden knives, this handle has been carved and shaped so that it allows children to comfortably wrap their fingers around the handle and grip the knife, thereby giving them more precise control. And…it  ones in a nice, custom fitted box that makes it easy for presentation to others as a gift, wrapping or storage.  We absolutely love this wooden knife for children. We've tried every wooden knife on the market that we could find, and this one is the one.  DETAILS SKÅGFÄ Materials: Beechwood and plant oils 10cm x 9.5cm Ergonomic Handle for a comfy grip Ages 3 years and older Adult supervision recommended CARE Handwash only. Wipe clean with a damp cloth or soap and water as needed. Do not submerge/soak knife in water or wash in the dishwasher. (Water and wood are not friends!)
