This listing is for Insul Bright 22.5" wide, priced and sold by the HALF YARD. Multiple quantities will be shipped as one continuous cut unless otherwise instructed. Insul-Bright is a specialty batting used to add a layer of thermal insulation to pot holders, oven mitts. casserole covers, ironing board covers, reusable lunch bags, and just about any other sewing project that needs it. Insul-Bright is an insulated material consisting of polyester fibers, needle-punched through a reflective metalized polyester film. The needled material is breathable and won't break down with washing. The polyester fibers resist conduction while the reflective metalized polyester film reflects radiant energy, hot or cold, back to its source. Insul~Bright can be used in clothing but is a little noisy as the film crinkles when moved. This noise is very attractive to both babies and animals, as they like to scrunch it up in soft books and toys. Tips for use: - For optimal results, use 2 layers of cotton batting with one layer of Insul-Brite in between. This will help absorb condensation. You can still use 1 layer and still have thermal protection. If being used with objects over 400 degrees, plan on using a double layer or just use two pot holders. - Insul-Brite is reversible. You can use it either way shiny side or dull side out if you want. NOTE: Insul~Bright is not recommended for microwave use. Made in the USA by the Warm Company
