This one-day workshop is focused on the basic steps involved in creating stained glass projects using the lead came construction method. The lead came technique involves cutting and fitting pieces of lead channel (came) between the glass pieces and differs from the copper-foil method often used for smaller stained glass craft projects. Lead came is typically used for larger architectural projects such as windows or signs where panel strength and long-term durability are important. Each student will work through all the steps involved from design to finishing using a small sample pattern. The emphasis for this class will be on the differences between the copper-foil and lead came methods. Prior experience with the copper-foil method is helpful, but not required.
