The Borla cat back exhaust is 25% lighter than the OE exhaust and showed gains of 4 whp (wheel horse power) and 6 ft. lbs. of wtq. (wheel torque) in testing by Borla! It's lighter than the stock system, too, by more than ten pounds.  (Stock weight - 38.4 lbs. Borla cat back - 28 lbs.) The system features a 2.5 diameter stainless steel front pipe, and Borla's single muffler that incorporates patented Multi-Core Technology piping with 2 diameter split-rear pipes and 4.25 polished tips.

Since the Borla Catback BRZ has no rear muffler, Borla suggests their rear diffuser to prevent air turbulence under the rear of the car.
