The plastic foam gives the board its unique lightness which is one of the properties that makes Foamboard so useful as a mounting board, backing board, and display material. Satin-smooth surface - no corrugations, no texture, no seams. The thick board cuts effortlessly with mat knives, razors, slitters, fine-toothed band saws, and circular table saws.

It prevents cluster heat from condensing on the cold inner cover, which can moisten the cluster during a vulnerable time of year.
