One pound of wax will seal about 25-30 bottles.  Heat the wax to 250-275F for best results.  Do not heat past 300F.  Heating to the right temperature ensures you get a smooth and sleek finish on each of your bottles.  Wax that is too hot can become thin, giving a see-through look when it dries on your bottle.  Colder wax will be difficult to adhere to the bottle, and you may notice a skin or film on the finished product.  Keep a close eye on your temperature to get the perfect look you are aiming for.  It usually takes about 30 minutes for the wax on the bottles to completely cool. You can melt your wax on a hot plate with a pot of water that contains a smaller pot in it with the wax.  You will also need a thermometer.  You can also use a “Fry Daddy” or crock pot, especially if it has a built-in thermometer control.
