This is a highly detailed model of the WWII German tank destroyer Nashorn. The German Army developed self-propelled anti-tank guns in order to counter the overpowering Russian T-34 and KV tanks, and the Nashorn had particularly overwhelming power among the many anti-tank guns produced. The production started in February 1943, and the Nashorn sported an L/71 8.8cm Pak43/1 gun which was capable of penetrating armor from a long distance.

In 1944, the end of WWII, the German Army tried to improve fire power of the German Tank Panzerkampfwagen, and the German Panzer IV/70(A) developed based on this plan. To shorten its development cycle as much as possible, the hull was based upon the German Tank Panzerkampfwagen IV Ausf. J, which was under production at that moment, combined with the fixed fighting compartment with L/70 7.5cm long barrel gun of the IV/70(V) Lang.

The Tamiya 1/48 German Heavy Armored Car Sd.Kfz 234/2 Puma Model Kit is an accurate recreation of the 8-wheeled Puma made from 1943-1944. The full sized vehicle featured a long-barreled 5cm gun turret, sloped armor, independent leaf spring suspension and 8-wheel drive with 8-wheel steering system. Tamiya has taken these details and scaled them to 1/48 and include markings for the three different options made. Package includes one unassembled model kit.
